A meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lakemoor was held on   Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the Council Room at 234 West Rand Road, Lakemoor, Illinois.

 

 

 

Meeting opened at 7:00 PM.

President Weihofen requested deleting item # 5 under New Business, Approval of Employee Compensation of the agenda.

Trustee Brindise questioned why the Attorney’s Report isn’t on the agenda.

President Weihofen informed the Board that Attorney Waggoner will report to him and he will report to the Board if needed.

 

Motion by Trustee Beach, second by Trustee McIntyre to approve the agenda as amended.

Trustee Koehl questioned page 11 of the May 14, 2009 Board minutes and noted changes.

Motion by Trustee McIntyre, second by Trustee Lonigro to approve the purchase order for McHenry County Recorder of Deeds in the amount of $240.00 for 5 released liens and add it to Bills Payables.

Trustee Lennon informed the Board that a grant was applied for and will pay for the Police car printers.

 

Motion by Trustee Lennon, second by Trustee Koehl to approve purchase order for Advanced Public Safety in the amount of $4,556.85 for Police Car Printers.

Acceptance of the April 2009 Collection Report

 

 

Trustee Koehl commented on the sales tax and income tax being low.

 

Motion by Trustee McIntyre, second by Trustee Beach to accept the April 2009 Collection Report.

Report of Officers:

 

 

Superintendent of Public Works, Charles Schmidt

 

A copy of the April 2009 Public Works Monthly Project Report and the Public Works Annual Report was included in the Board packet. Superintendent Charles Schmidt was in attendance to answer any questions from the Board.

 

Trustee Koehl questioned Charlie regarding page 2 of the Public Works Monthly Project Report.

 

 

 

Chief of Police, Rick Iverson

 

 

A copy of the April 2009 Department of Police Report was included in the Board packet. Chief Iverson was in attendance to answer any questions from the Board.

 

Chief Iverson commented that on May 23, 2009 at 9:00 AM at Heritage Park the Police Department held its annual Bike Rodeo. Chief Iverson informed the Board that the Bike Rodeo went well and was a nice event.

 

 

 

Report of Officers:

 

 

President Report – Todd Weihofen

President Weihofen announced that he would like to address a few issues with the Board. President Weihofen commented that in order to cut costs he would like the Board to direct any questions to him and not to the Village staff or the Village Attorney.

 

 

 

Committee Reports:

 

 

 

Trustee McIntyre:             Trustee McIntyre called an Executive Committee Meeting for

                                             June 4, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Village Hall, discussion of

                                             Lakemoorfest 2009, Personnel Policy and Executive Session

                                             Personnel Files.

                                            

                       

      

Trustee Beach:                   Nothing at this time.

                                                    

 

 

Trustee Brindise:               Nothing at this time.

                             

 

 

Trustee Lennon:                Trustee Lennon commented that she would be out of town for the

                                             month of June and would be unable to attend the June Village

                                             Board meetings.

                                             

 

 

Trustee Koehl:                   Nothing at this time.

 

 

 

Trustee Lonigro:               Trustee Lonigro commented to the Board that he had received an

                                            proposal from Applied Micro, Inc. regarding the Village’s

                                            current website. Trustee Lonigro asked the Board if they minded if

                                            he was to get another proposal for the website and have them come

                                            to the next Village Board meeting.

There was discussion by the Board regarding Ordinance 09-O-08.

 

Motion by Trustee McIntyre, second by Trustee Brindise to approve Ordinance 09-O-08, An Ordinance Entitled An Ordinance Amending Chapter 9 Of The Municipal Code Of The Village Of Lakemoor.

Citizen Comment

 

 

Sue Stanczak, 140 S. Highland Drive commented on the problems in her area of the Village regarding people not taking pride in their homes and property, dogs running free, children playing in the streets.

Sue would like to see Village ordinances enforced. Sue informed the Board concerning a petition that was delivered last year asking the board to do something with the violations. Sue asked if the Board will review the petition at the next Village Board meeting.

 

Tina Asmus,134 S. Highland Drive commented on the appliances in her front yard and will be prepared to contact her attorney regarding the appliances.
