PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT
BUILDING PERMITS are needed for fences, sheds, decks, patios, roofing, porches, driveways and siding.  Check with the building department before starting any project.  Building permits take a minimum of 48 hours to be issued after receipt of application documents.  Application documents include a completed application form, survey, plans and architectural approval.  Having all documents ready when applying for a permit will alleviate processing delays.  SWIMMING POOL regulations are available at the Village Hall.  These controls are intended to provide protection against potential drowning and near-drowning to children under the age of five by restricting pool access.  These regulations apply to all pools, spas and hot tubs over 24 inches deep.
It is expected that when applying for any building
permit that your utility bill is current.
The beach in Morrison park is open.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  There is no lifeguard on duty.  Let’s keep our parks and beach clean.  Please don’t litter.  Trash cleanup uses valuable time that could be spent on other projects.  Animals are prohibited from the parks and beach.  Animal wastes negatively impact beach water samplings.  Skateboarding is not allowed in the parks, especially on picnic tables.  Parents are responsible and liable for damage caused by their children.
Please report streetlight outages and location to the Public Works Department so the appropriate ComEd facility can be contacted.

Have a safe Summer!
