DISASTER RELIEF
Dear Lakemoor Resident,
The tragic events that took place on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 have many of us wondering what we can do to help. Since many of the local businesses within our Village already have collection receptacles from various relief organizations at their sites, we encourage you to make donations when patronizing these businesses. The Village of Lakemoor’s involvement in the relief efforts will be as follows:
* Checks made payable to the American Red Cross will be accepted in the Village
Clerk’s office at the Village Hall. The Clerk will forward the checks to
the American Red Cross at appropriate intervals. The American Red Cross
will send a receipt directly to individual donors for tax purposes.
Village collection efforts will be communicated in upcoming newsletters.
*Other relief efforts, such as blood drives, that are planned within our
community or surrounding communities will be communicated through our Village
Newsletter or the Northwest Herald.
*We will actively work with local officials of surrounding communities to ensure
Lakemoor residents stay informed of efforts to help our fellow Americans.
We encourage our residents who feel comfortable with contributing
online to do so through the American Red Cross secure website at
www.chicagoredcross.org. If you wish to donate using your credit card go
to the American Red Cross website or call 312-729-6100.
The
Village Hall will accept contributions until December 31, 2001. We will
notify residents if the collection period is extended. Thank you for your
support.
