Mayor Colin McIntyre

The Lakemoor Police Department has teamed up with Nixle in order to notify residents of important and valuable information. When we create and publish messages through the Nixle Community Information Service, Nixle will deliver this information to you instantly by cell phone text message and/or e-mail. Notifications can also be accessed online at Nixle's website.

Example messages may include information on recent crimes, descriptions of missing endangered persons, road closures and other relevant safety and community event information. Each message will be assigned one of four notification categories: Alert (time sensitive, need-to-know information that may require proactive action on your part), Advisory (need-to-know information that is not time sensitive), Traffic (for traffic related information) or Community (messages that are more informational in nature).

The service is reliable and spam free. More importantly, there are no hidden costs to sign up and use the service. However, if electing to receive text message notifications, standard text messaging rates apply as per your cellular contract. When signing up for the service, YOU decide what type of notifications you want to receive and whether you want to receive them by text message or e-mail.
