TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR

LAKEMOOR POLICE UTV RAFFLE

 

The Village of Lakemoor Police Department (“Village”) is conducting a raffle for one (1) Polaris Ranger Crew SP570 Premium.  There will be a total of 285 tickets sold.  The drawing is initially scheduled to take place at Lakemoor Fest, held at Morrison Park, Lakemoor, Illinois, on August 12, 2023 at 8:30 pm provided all tickets have been sold at that time.  In the event that all 285 tickets have not been sold as of 8:30 pm August 12, 2023, the drawing will be held at the first public meeting of the Lakemoor Board of Trustees following the sale of all tickets. 


Odds of winning depend on the number of tickets purchased.  Each ticket represents a 1 in 285 chance of winning. 

This raffle is being conducted in accordance with Illinois Statutes and the local rules and regulations of the Village governing the operation of raffles and lotteries.  All proceeds will go to the Village of Lakemoor Police Department.    

Must be 18 years of age or older on the date of purchase to enter.  Need not be present to win.  Ticket purchaser is responsible for completion of all information required on the ticket in legible manner.  The Village shall not be responsible for any ticket lost by the purchaser.  The Village makes no representation or warranties as to the use or operation of the UTV.  

This raffle is void outside of the state of Illinois and where prohibited by law.  All sales of raffle tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.  If the unit is not available at the time of the drawing, the Village reserves the right to substitute a UTV of like-kind and of equal or greater value.   Village further reserves the right to end ticket sales at any time prior to all 285 tickets being sold.

By participating in the Raffle, each participant agrees that Village and its officers, employees, agents, and assigns will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be indemnified, released and held harmless by each participant against, any liability for injuries, losses, costs, expenses or damages of any kind, including damages for death, personal injury, property damage or property loss, resulting from, whether in whole or in part or directly or indirectly, participation in this Raffle or the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any raffle ticket or prize. 

By participating in the Raffle, each participant agrees Village may share his/her name, contact information, and transaction information (i.e. number and date of Raffle tickets purchased) with any presenting or sponsoring partner of the Raffle. In addition, each winner, by accepting a prize, grants Village, Village's designees and affiliates and any presenting or sponsoring partner of the Raffle,  including without limitation the Village of Lakemoor, full permission, except where legally prohibited, to use such winner's name, address (city and state only), photograph, personal statements, voice and/or other likeness and prize information for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without further compensation and without notice, review or approval, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide, and on the Internet and world wide web, in perpetuity.

One (1) winning ticket will be randomly drawn by a representative from the Lakemoor Police Department.  The purchaser of the winning ticket will be contacted by the Village, provided such purchaser has adhered to the terms and conditions herein, within 48 hours of the drawing.  Once contacted the winner MUST CLAIM THE PRIZE WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS OF BEING NOTIFIED or such prize may, at the discretion of the Village, be forfeited and new winner drawn in the same manner as the original. 

Any Federal and State income taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. 

Any disputes or claims arising out of participation in this raffle shall be brought and heard in the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, Lake County, Illinois.  If such court determines that any term, condition, or provision of these rules or their application to a particular person or circumstance is invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable to any extent, then such term, condition, or provision shall be deemed to be restated or rescinded to reflect as closely as possible the original intentions of the remainder of the applicable rules.  Purchasers waive the right to pursue any claim or claims against the Village arising from this raffle in a class action forum and further waive the right to trial by jury.   

The failure of Village to enforce at any time any provision of the Official Rules shall not be considered a waiver of such provision or any other provision and shall not deprive Village of the right thereafter to enforce such provision or any other provision.
